Access rights
Control whether managers see real-time results
Target audience: Administrators
Introduction to Access rights
Live engagement access let you control whether managers see real-time results and comments for a segment while an engagement survey is still open. Segments with this setting turned off will still show participation rate in real time, so managers know when to encourage more responses, but results and comments stay hidden until the survey closes.
This is especially useful for segments where the timing of a response is important, for example, deskless teams working in shifts, or smaller segments where results update visibly as each person responds.
Live engagement access is configured per segment. Once the survey closes, all results and comments become visible as usual. Access is configured under Settings → Attributes when working with a choice or user type attribute.
How it works
When Live engagement access is turned off for a segment:
- No one — including administrators — can see real-time results or comments for that segment
-
Participation rate remains visible throughout the survey
- The heatmap will display participation rate but results will display as "–"
- Once the survey closes, results and comments become visible automatically
- Results and comments from the segment are still included in the Organization report while the survey is running
Relationship with Segment access and Hierarchies
Segment access
Segment access always overrules Live engagement access. If Segment ccess is deactivated but Live engagement ccess is turned on, the manager still won't have access to results, since Segment Access takes precedence.
Hiearchies
Live engagement access follows the hierarchy structure:
- If Live engagement access is turned off for a segment, no one can see results or comments for that segment while the survey is open
- If a parent segment has Live engagement access turned on, results and comments from the child segment are still included and available at the parent level while the survey is open
